What’s Your Date? Drew Hunthausen, Blind Inspirational Speaker

February 21, 1998 is the date when everything changed for me. It’s a day I don’t even remember, yet one I will never forget. It is the day my parents rushed me to the hospital where I was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, which later took my eyesight and much more.

John O’Leary, who is the author of the above quote, was burned on 100 percent of his body at age 9 while playing with gasoline. Many months in the hospital, unthinkable pain, multiple surgeries, and the loss of his fingers and one ear. He has since become a renown motivational speaker and bestselling author.

My friends, the human spirit is so powerful. Nothing is impossible. I wanted to also share these photos, not only to show how far Regular individuals like John and I  have come, but to demonstrate the true strength we all have within.

Just like February 21st for me, this year we all shared a date, a circumstance in the form of the Corona Virus. Over these last few months, it has affected each of us differently, though no one has been untouched by its nasty tentacles in some way. It might have changed you but remember that change happens every day. When we can believe this, do our best to adapt, and keep moving forward, only the best is yet to come.
