Living By Design and Not By Default. Drew Hunthausen, Blind Inspirational Speaker

I came across this quote a few days ago and It has been stuck in my head ever since. I admit, and I’m sure many of you have had some of the same thoughts, but this current world situation could at least at by some, be described as “hell on earth”.

But despite how bad these current circumstances may be, it made me think about how we were all given a potential, a massive potential with a divine purpose. Unfortunately, so many of us live our lives in a way that we never fully realize that potential. What if you had the chance to meet the person you “could have been”?

Would they be confident, or would they be crippled by fear and adjust their lifestyle in order to avoid any conflict or adversity? Would they love fully, or be so closed off that no one could get through? Would they be kind, generous, and nonjudgmental, or would they be self-centered, self-absorbed, and full of insecurity, having become a victim of their own making?

Would they be successful and blessed, or would they be stuck in a mindset of lack and fear? Would they stay stuck because they let the fear and anxiety win and keep them from moving forward?

What kind of influence would that person have? Would their family, friends and community reflect the way they were loved and nurtured, or would they reflect the pain of that person’s neglect and self-absorption?

My message for you today is that your future self will be a product of the vision you have for them. You must decide who you want to become. We are all a work in progress so that doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes along the way or have some bad days or experience challenging times, but it does mean that you have the power to fashion the person you want to become. You have the power to be sure that the person you could have been is the one you actually become.

My friends, this is living by design and not by default. This horrible virus was not part of any of our desired designs, but the beautiful truth is that in the midst of these challenges, we still have the choice, ability, and awesome strength to endure and become that incredible person we want and were created to be. When you can live your life this way, only the best is yet to come!
