Seize The Day: Time Is Free But Priceless, Drew Hunthausen, Blind Inspirational Speaker

As the holidays wind down and the new year begins, some of the most popular conversations people have revolve around New Year’s resolutions and setting goals for 2020. While I am a firm believer in setting goals and planning for the future, I have also more recently become more and more aware of how I can tend to focus on future concerns or dwell on regrets of the past, while neglecting to really experience the significance of the moment.

I suspect that is because both the past and the future are technically not real. The future especially can consume our thoughts as we fantasize it as being better and more exciting than where we are today. The challenge many of us  have is learning to live in, and appreciate, the present.

While we do have to learn from the past and plan for the future, the only “time” that is truly real is this present moment. In taking time each day to even just listen to our heartbeat in gratitude for this moment, this second of life, we can start to be intentional about appreciating and living in the now.

There are so many distractions in our lives today, and tuning into this present can be a challenge. My goal for the New Year is to be intentional about it and I encourage you to join me. Seize each moment of every day and you will truly find that the best is yet to come!

Wishing you much joy and success in 2020!
