What a Week!

What a Week!

Having my own web site up and running is almost unreal!! I feel like I’ve been working up to this point for a long time, yet it still seems unreal. The URL: www.noexcusesblindguy.com/drewhunthausen.com/ is live!

The last several days have been incredible ones to put it mildly. Beginning with a 13 hour marathon first day of the Joint Venturing Experience (JVX) conference where I can’t even start to list all the amazing take away’s. The conference was comprised of several well known speakers/ authors and nearly 300 attendees from various professions and in various stages of professional development. There were coaches of all kinds, Christian counselors, weight loss experts, niche coaches like those who want to reach post career women or those who have a system to help you write a book. Each of the three days was full of amazing and useful tips and information on learning to be a better speaker and a better self-promoter, as you work to be successful in your chosen field.

The first day I learned so much from the speakers regarding creating a signature speech, delivering speeches to the audience, and even some marketing strategies. Many of the speakers were promoting some of their products and one of them, Marcia Wieder who had told us about her sister who was vision and hearing impaired, awarded me her amazing course called “How to be An Inspiring Speaker”. The awesome part of it is that it comes with a ticket to her 3-day live event called Wealthy Visionary Conference 2014.

Marcia is the Founder and CEO of Dream University and has authored 14 books! She has appeared on Opra, the Today Show, and is a past president of the National Association of Women Business Owners. I was so overwhelmed at her generosity! Needless to say I am so excited and thankful for the opportunity to network and meet so many wonderful people who I can look forward to partnering with in the future!

Days 2 and 3 were similar to the first, with nonstop information and tips for helping me with concrete direction to move forward and be able to share my message of “attitude, gratitude, and no excuses”. I was totally exhausted at the end of each day, but I have not one regret. I feel so much better about moving forward to speak, write, and in learning to effectively promote myself. My confidence has definitely grown from all the encouragement I received from others at the conference. I also picked up a ticket and corresponding program to attend one other live event next year that I can write about next time.

What I do know for sure is that now I really have my work cut out for me as I strive to become a more effective and polished speaker. In the meantime please spread the word that I am looking for opportunities to share my message at schools, churches, civic clubs, service clubs, businesses, and anywhere else that there are folks who might want to hear me. That’s all for now.

Gratefully,

Drew

Drew, I was in HB twice in recent months and missed you both times. I promise not to let that happen again. It sounds like an exciting time in your life and I am so very proud of your accomplishments. You really don’ t have to say anything to be an inspiration, you just are! I watched your video and the message you delivered at Grace. I was there with you and your parents throughout that ordeal. There were so many people whose lives were touched in the healing process. As I watched the video, I remembered those moments in great detail. Thanks for being a witness of Jesus’ miraculous love. I also wanted you to know that I am telling your story as a part of my Easter sermon. Many more will hear and learn about you. I am even mentioning your blog. May the Lord continue to bless you as you bless the lives of countless others.
