Loss

Loss is a very broad word in its meaning as it can range from the loss of a pet, the loss of your first tooth, all the way to the death of a close friend or family member. No matter what kind of loss you have experienced, everyone deals with it in one way or another. The way we cope with loss is also very diverse, some people cry or get emotional, and some try to forget it by covering it up with a substance such as alcohol, why others seek out comfort in friends and family. When I lost my eye sight, much of my hearing, and a good deal of the nerve function in my legs, I had nights where I would cry myself to sleep in grief or response to a frustrating happening that day. Any kind of loss is a tough thing to deal with as naturally we want more not less; more friends, more money, more health, more happiness etc! I continue to experience these significant losses day in day out in varying degrees as do most of us I’m sure, but how we react and respond is up to us. When we look at our losses with an attitude of gratitude and focus on the joy in our lives it is almost impossible to be sad. By no means is it an easy thing to accomplish, but displaying this attitude of gratitude will bring us a life filled with Joy, Peace, and prosperity! Get yourself in a positive mood, what are you grateful for despite your loss, focus on the positives of what you have, not the negative view of what you lost. Truly experience that attitude of gratitude!
