Family Fun

Who doesn’t like to celebrate special occasions and glow in the excitement of it all?! I guess there might be a few people in the world, but I think I can safely say that most of us enjoy the festive atmosphere of celebration! About a month in a half ago my favorite brother got married to an awesome and wonderful woman who I have come to love and adore. The wedding was held in beautiful sunny Southern California, and since my brother and his wife live in Houston, much of the leg work to get ready for the big day was left to my parents and me.

Weddings are a lot of work to put together. Finding the location, sending out invites, making all the decisions for food and drink, and much more. The hardest part of it all was that I had the responsibility of tasting and choosing the wine and food for the reception. It was extremely tough being forced to sample several different wines and food choices! I hope you can feel as well as read my sarcasm here. Food and wine tasting is a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!

All of us have different relationships with our family members, some good and some not so much. Weather you have a traditional family with parents and siblings or a closer family of friends, there’s nothing that can replace them. Often it is our nature to remember and think about the negative experiences we’ve had with family like fights or separations. I challenge you to give some thoughts to the positive memories you have and make that your focus. I would even encourage you to leave a comment with a happy positive family experience here if you so choose. Have a blessed day filled with a positive attitude, an abundance of gratitude, and no excuses!!!!!
